The combination of Pilates, Osteopathy and Massage has been the proven recipe for overall wellness amongst my patients in my Barcelona Pilates studio and Osteopathy clinic. 

 Clients often contact me with an ongoing pain or discomfort. The root of the problem can vary from; emotional stress, an injury or need for rehabilitation or simply bad posture.

Holistic Health is the concept of working with the body and mind as one to improve overall health, vitality, and mindset. Conventional medicine takes the approach of seeing a problem or illness and treating it as an isolated problem rather than looking at if the injury or illness and seeking its cause. For example, muscle fatigue could have been triggered from emotional stress, the muscle compensating for a week or damaged muscle in another part of the muscle chain, nerve damage, bad posture, and much more. Issuing a pain killer or muscle relaxant doesn’t deal with the root problem and in many cases I see the problem gets worst and harder to treat as time passes and convention non holistic treatment deals with one aspect of the patient’s pain and discomfort.

As a holistic practitioner I use a combination of Pilates, Massage and Osteopathy to treat and retrain the body. The Osteopathy is ideal to realign the body and encourage mobility viewing the body as a whole. An osteopath understands that a problem in the hips for example, will normally effect the neck and therefore both area must be treated even if the patient only feel pain in one of those areas. Massage is often part of an Osteopathy session and focused on relieving physical and physiological stress as well as reducing muscle tension.
