Wonderful Camille Allen's Babies. Artist Dolls and Sculptures
Written by Helen
Tuesday, 21 September 2010

"I am privileged to have learned the art of doll making from my husband's grandmother just over 8 years ago. She taught me how to sculpt large lifesize dolls in polymer clay. A year later when I had some bits of leftover clay from a larger doll, I formed the bit of clay into a miniature baby. When I held the tiny baby in my hand I had the feeling of protectiveness and fascination. I loved it instantly!"

Folk Art by Linda Nelson

"Linda's inspiration for her paintings stems from her life on the family's farm, which was home to five generations. Bunnies in the garden, kittens in the hayloft and fuzzy lambs in the meadow were prized finds during her explorations of the farm. Grandma Belle's recollections of her life as a young girl during horse and buggy days always fascinated Linda. Today, Linda finds new and constant inspiration from her surroundings, whether it is a breathtaking sunset or the beautiful snow covered hills of Connecticut."

Saturday, 27 March 2010

"The beauty of nature moves my spirit. I want to express this nature visually and in a traditional manner, as in the fine old master paintings you see in the museums. I look to them for inspiration and guidance in the convention of picture-making and strive to find my own language, my own personal handwriting within this discipline."
