Isn't this idea an Anne Geddes original?
I guess I just don't understand why her inspiration to all of this is not mentioned and that it appears as though Tracy is taking full credit for the idea..? Am I missing something?

Anne Geddes doesn't have a monopoly on taking pics of babies. I am sure these are her idea. They are beautiful pics why to you have to sign in here and gripe. Take a step back take a deep breathe and enjoy these beautiful pics

Just because Anne Geddes also photographed newborns does not mean no one else can be acknowledged for taking beautiful pictures. Must there always be a negative comment made about everything? These are beautiful pictures of newborns for goodness sakes.

Anne Geddes does do photos of sleeping babies... That is where the similarity ends in my opinion.

For the most part Anne uses fake GIANT flowers, Planting pots and butterfly wings for photos while blending the chid into the subject in a clever fashion.

I lik her style a lot.

Tracy also uses the sleeping baby but she uses socks, stockings, bowls; you know, "real stuff" to accent her subject. Both are extremely talented photographers that make life a little sweeter with their craft!

OK, so if one bride wears white dress, does this mean another bride in white dress can't be as beautiful because she is wearing white dress as well? daaaaaaaaaaa! Also, have you ever held a camera in your hand? I don't think so, because if you ever did, you would know the beauty is to capture your subject with the right lighting, not that this or that is similar to another photographer's work... and .... try to pose your child in one of the poses Tracy did. I would LOVE to see the result...
Tracy, your work is just beautiful. Don't let these jealous looser get to you. I am a professioanl photographer as well, and rather than COPYING, I am calling this MOTIVATION and IDEAS for my work. Trust me! I use lot of other photographers' ideas to create beautiful portraits...

I am a graphic Designer and realize that inspiration comes from everywhere and everyone. I think the pics are awesome and we can use this positive energy from each other for good not complaining.
Think how many of the arts are merely a copy of the original, our creator. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Bach didn't invent music, but he added his passion to it.

That's so unfair. These are nothing like Anne Geddes. Tracy's work has a more "organic" and natural feel to them. Anne's work, although I appreciate her talent, is way more contrived. Besides, other photographers are allowed to take posed pictures of babies.

Stunning!There's plenty of room for more outstanding photographers.....since when is Ann Geddes the "original" idealist to these type of photos db? Several people I know took pictures of their children like this before Ann....only they weren't published

I imagine there is not a huge minority community in Nebraska, hiring her to photograph their newborn. But, I noticed that, too. Unfortunately, photography as art is widely advertised with caucasian and sometimes asian babies to attract clients, the default cultural ideal of beauty. Doll sales in the US, interestingly enough, contest to that bias... first in popularity is causasian, second is asian, third is hispanic, and last is always black. Sad, huh? You've got to hear the Podcast of This American Life (NPR) about FAO Schwartz's doll nursery.

Just maybe caucasian people are the only ones who take their children to a professional... Professionals do not quiz what color their clients are when they call for a session! Black babies are georgeous but some parents do spend their money elsewhere.. Maybe you should 'notice' the only people who 'notice' who's white, black, red, yellow, etc. etc. etc. are racists! Please! admire talent, cut the race baiting and grow up!

These are absolutely gorgeous pictures!! Perhaps professionals do not quiz the color of the clients, but they do choose what pictures they put out there for advertisement. It does not mean people of other descent are not taking professional pictures (black folk LOVE cameras), it just means that the photographer chose not to use ethnicity in her advertisements--that's too bad. However, it does not take away from the beauty of these pictures.

Why do you have to be a racist to notice something such as this?... I noticed it and I'm not a racist by any means. Her pictures are beautiful!... All the babies in the photos are adorable. And caucasions aren't the only parents who take their children to have professional pictures taken. I am a black female and I planned on taking my babies to have photos such as this to capture those precious moment.

ANd I admire her talent!...

The pictures are beautifully done. Photographers and parents have been taking pics of babies for many years. Give this woman a break! Anne Geddes does wonderful work and so does this new young photographer. I have a black and white of my grandson at 2 wks old. We went to a studio to get an awake pic but they don't always cooperate and now I'm glad he was asleep. So relaxed and nothing can bring back those days of seeing him as he naturally was at 2 wks old and peacefully asleep.

I KNOW your pictures are BEAUTIFUL!!!! They are very clean and amazing. Even though ANNE GEDDES... takes similar pictures, they are NO WHERE NEAR the same. Your images are very interesting and whoever says different is silly, lol.

What a gift you have!

(I find it "entertaining" that people compare the pictures to Anne Geddes ~an artist in her own right~, when there are thousands of photographers taking pictures of sleeping newborns. It would be like complaining that Monet's flowers were a copy of Renoir.)

What photographer/artist/musician hasn't been inspired by another along the way? Tracy these are incredible photos captured by you and visions of these infants frozen in the moment so peaceful and content. As I saw on the sonograms of my own the placement of their legs and especially the hands and arms are absolutely perfect!! It's like a window into the womb....AMAZING! Don't ever stop doing what you do!

These are beautiful Anne Geddes, Snow shmo, the neighbor who cares who started first, these are beautiful pictures and the photographer did an excellent job. I enjoyed viewing them. Thank you for your talent I know I can't do something like this.

I think these are better than ANNE GEDDES. Tracy has a personal style that clearly cherishes the babies in her photos whereas some of ANNE GEDDES's photos frankly make me feel uncomfortable.

Although the similarities ring true to Anne Geddes photos I think that your photos are just as beautiful. You have captured precious moments and should be congratulated on your success. And to all the nay sayers remember no one person owns a style, if they did we would not have generations of people wearing the same clothes, eras of painters doing the same styles of paintings, or even photographers who yes take pictures of babies, flowers or even the sky. How wonderful a world it is that we can sit back and enjoy the their amazing talents.

The photograph's are beautiful. I really enjoyed looking at them. As for the differentials between Ann Geddes and Tracy, all photography is for the most part, just absolutely stunning! The way that you handle a camera to take pictures of a life that was given by God is an awesome thing.Let him direct your path & every picture that you take of a baby will be just that much more blessed.People will say things that they feel will make you shy away from how you do your work,but never let them shy you away from what God has given you,they are just mad because they did not come up with the idea first.I love the pictures & if I lived in the state that you live in I would have you to take the unforgotable images of my grandbabies.

I love these images.... being a photographer I know how hard it is to photograph babies and children. Ann G- made flowers and plants out of her clients... these are just babies :) which is sweet and simplistic in nature! Love them :)
