While these images are supposed to be about passion, the choice of models detracts from the ability of the images to convey genuine raw human emotion. The models are too perfect and thus make the message too forced and fake. If the models didn't look so much like models, the work would be beautiful. If you are going for a Calvin Klein ad, great work.

Couldn't agree more

We always use 'perfect models' to depict our fantasies. How often did the boy or girl next door look like the people who portray them in film or on stage? I look at the passion these pictures portray, not the props that enact the portrayal.

Absolutely agree with you:)

I think the work is beautiful, like the works of many great masters the models do look "idealistic" but what's wrong with that? Mannerists depicted elongated bodies in beautifully contorted poses, like in Rape of the Sabine, and while the figures aren't "realistic" they are well crafted, designed, and executed and should be appreciated for what they are.

and even though they are models, so what?
they are still people capable of human emotion. i think some of these pictures convey passion rather well. there are a few that are "oh damn thats just makin me horney"
but overall i think it is amazing work.

I have to say that the one that touched my heart - and what good is passion if it is just from the animal - is the one of the man caressing the woman's face - mostly clothed. Passion isn't remembered unless it reflects light, love, purity of heart. Lust is flat and one dimensional - like most of these pics - great technique - no heart.
Sasha   | | 2009-03-14 09:42:34
Lust is anything but one dimensional. It may have little depth, but it is real. No heart you say? Interesting considering passion AND lust are emotions.

Nice buddy,a piece of art

Its hard to look at this stuff anymore. Its so dime-a-dozen. Its nice work, from a technical standpoint, but I can't relate emotionally to it. Half of it just looks like an excuse to shoot porn and call it "art". The other half of it seems like retread and cliche. I remember in art school having to take photo classes (I was a graphic design major) and it was amazing what some of the photographers could do. We had assignments like this- capture some human emotion- and some of the photos people hung for critique were amazing. This stuff required no PASSION to shoot. It was just an excuse to shoot black-and-white nudes. And why are there no other kinds of images here? People are PASSIONATE about what they love- their kids, their work, the world around them- this is such a shallow and narrow view of one single instance of the word "passion".

I agree with your choice and couldn't have said it better.

What about the passion felt between "abnormal" couples?
Kate   | | 2009-03-11 23:16:53
I agree with Anita. The photo of the man caressing the woman's face is so moving, it certainly doesn't fit in with the rest of these trivial boring shots.

"can't live without it" my ass. Never experienced passion, and I'm alive writing this. therefore that's nonsense and unworthy of attention.
CiRo   | | 2011-03-30 19:58:00
Its called black and white passion, but not one image is of an interracial couple. Not necessarily black and white, but the contrast between different races in black and white. Plus all the models are picture perfect. It would also have been nice to have "real" people with average bodies in the shoot.
