The models are too perfect and thus make the message too forced and fake. If the models didn't look so much like models, the work would be beautiful. Mannerists depicted elongated bodies in beautifully contorted poses, like in Rape of the Sabine, and while the figures aren't "realistic" they are well crafted, designed, and executed and should be appreciated for what they are. doppie   | | 2009-03-11 15:59:58 Its hard to look at this stuff anymore. Its so dime-a-dozen. Its nice work, from a technical standpoint, but I can't relate emotionally to it. Half of it just looks like an excuse to shoot porn and call it "art". The other half of it seems like retread and cliche. I remember in art school having to take photo classes (I was a graphic design major) and it was amazing what some of the photographers could do. We had assignments like this- capture some human emotion- and some of the photos people hung for critique were amazing. This stuff required no PASSION to shoot. It was just an excuse to shoot black-and-white nudes. And why are there no other kinds of images here? People are PASSIONATE about what they love- their kids, their work, the world around them- this is such a shallow and narrow view of one single instance of the word "passion". Reply | Quote 4   3

Not necessarily black and white, but the contrast between different races in black and white. Plus all the models are picture perfect.
