Lies are everywhere in this world. All of us are liars! That’s true!!! I’m not lying now. I can stake on that everyone even once but had lied. Why do we do that? What are the reasons to say lies? Most people agree that some lying is even necessary - to avoid petty squabbles. A lie is a type of deception in the form of an untruthful statement with the intention to deceive, often with the further intention to maintain a secret or reputation, or to avoid punishment. To lie is to state something one believes is false with the intention that it be taken for the truth by someone else. A liar is a person who is lying, who has lied, or who lies repeatedly.

Most of us are occasional liars. We really don’t like to lie, but we do so every now and then to avoid an unpleasant situation or because we don’t want to admit doing something wrong or embarrassing. We lie to our bosses that we are late because we were saving a wild raccoon from terrible death from hunger. They lie to us that there are some financial problems in our company, so they just cannot give us the bonus. We lie to our parents that we are still the virgin and we really don’t smoke. They lie to us saying that they believe us:) And so on and so on…

But there are another lies in our life – lies in our relationships. An interesting thing is that the lies that men tell women really differ from the lies that women tell men:) When women lie, they tend to focus on making others feel better. Men lie to enhance themselves and to get what they want.
These lies are almost professional, but it’s better to say habitual. But the funniest in this situation is that we all can see that someone (man or women) is lying, but we continue doing that.

So here are the most common lies that men tell women:

• "You are very beautiful."
  means: "You stimulate me and I want to have sex with you."
• "I love you."
  means: "I lust you. I want you to drop your guard and let me have all your "sweet treats."
• "I really want to settle down."
  means: "I'm tired of chasing after women to get sex. I want you to be there waiting for me anytime I want it."
• "I really want to be close to you."
  means: "I really want to be close to you so I can get sex whenever I want it."
• "I'll call you."
  means: "I'll call you when I want you again."
• "You are the only one."
  means: "You are the only one at this minute."

• "I've been celibate since we broke up."
  means: "I can't find a woman to give me sex."
• "It's not just the sex I want, it's being close to you."
  means: "It is the sex I want, so I want you to be close so I can get more whenever I want it."

But of course women also lie(may be even more then men):

• "I'm not very experienced, you'll have to teach me how."
• "That was really good. The best I ever had."
• "It doesn't matter that I never reached mine."
• "I'm OK, I just want you to feel good."
• "I really like doing that to you."
• "That was awesome, I never had better."
• "You're all the man I'll ever need."
• "I'll never want anyone else."
• "You're so big!"

Don’t take that really serious. If your partner truly loves you it’s not so bad as for me that saying that he loves you he means that he loves you and wants you :)
We just need to know what kind of lies to watch for, when to accept the ”innocent” lies and when to call a partner's bluff.

There's an epidemic of lies, and like it or not, we're caught in it. Fact is, the lie is as ordinary and American as apple pie. Ordinary and volatile.



Of course it would be far easier still if people simply didn’t lie in the first place. But then how would you keep children from learning the truth about Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy?

I personally don't ever need to lie to get sex.. confident men don't. This must have been written by a woman who clearly does not understand men. Reply | Quote 2   0

Joe Burge 2008-07-01 11:24:20 i completely agree with you Chris that the article has flaws. the main floor is that the lies mentioned are extremely stereotypical however taking the whole article into account it still proves an interesting read. and its true a great deal of us lie to get what we want/ to make people feel better , however I'm a man and I'll admit to lying both for my own needs and to make other people feel better. To conclude my thoughts what we can all learn from the article is that lying although common isn't a very good thing.
