The "24" star - who was jailed for 48 days last December for driving under the influence of alcohol - says although his time behind bars was grueling, it gave him the opportunity to kick his nicotine habit. He said: "My drinking was not a daily thing, so it wasn't an issue. And, oddly enough, neither was the smoking." |

The former Hole singer - who sparked fears for her mental health at the weekend after she flooded her MySpace blog with more than 60 entries - admits she occasionally gets depressed but insists she isn't considering taking her own life. She wrote on her blog: "I don't ingest alcohol and to even make the merest suggestion of a crack pipe is insane and mean and a lie, which you know perfectly well." |

The monarch finished third in the survey of the top 10 positive role models for women, which was conducted by British bingo chain Mecca Bingo. The 82-year-old royal was beaten to the top spot by Girls Aloud star and "The X Factor" judge Cheryl Cole. Last year, the 25-year-old singer topped the poll of the worst example set to British women. |

| Former Guns N Roses guitarist Slash, along with his wife Perla Hudson, have released a short video to show their support for gay marriage. In the video clip, Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, has spoken out against Proposition 8 of California State ballot. The preposition amended the state Constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to opposite sex. |
