Quotation

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than exposure."

Delightful Teapots for Your Excellent Tea
Monday, 26 November 2007

Active ImageIn many cultures, tea is often had at social events, such as afternoon tea and the tea party. The traditional method of making a cup of tea is with loose tea placed directly into a teapot and pouring boiling (or very hot depending on the type of tea) water over the tea. Using a teapot is not only an excellent way of serving tea, it is also an excellent way of making it. So here are some great teapots. They all are different, but everyone has its unique beauty. Choose which one is the best for you!

Old Dutch 38-Ounce Cast-Iron Nobility Teapot: Old Dutch cast-iron teapots combine traditional Japanese styling and a modern aesthetic that result in very evocative shapes. Generously sized with a capacity of 38 ounces, the Nobility teapot forms a wide, flat shape, much like an upside-down bowl, balanced by a graceful spout and arching handle. The textured surface takes on a weathered appearance and displays bas-relief images of bamboo and pine. Perhaps a bit heavier than many teapots, the heft and visual richness lend noble contemplation to the act of making tea.

The Churchill China Brook Blue Teapot with a charming pastoral scene in shades of blue. The landscape incorporates wispy clouds, a peaceful cottage, babbling brook, and a church tower. A stone bridge and a multitude of trees make this a lovely place to take a walk. Latticework, leaves, and grape clusters adorn the rim of the teapot as well as the lid, and it has the graceful curve of the handle that enables to hold it gently with one thumb. It is just the right size. Even though it could hold more, it is not too large for a smaller amount. It is quite lovely and high quality.

Portmeirion Botanic Garden Teapot: There could be no better vessel for a reviving cup of tea than this traditionally shaped teapot from the Botanic Garden collection. The glazed earthenware keeps tea hot, and the generous capacity allows good water circulation to ensure a perfect brew. The pot's curved sides are an ideal canvas for the bold wraparound floral design, and the domed lid is painted with a green leaf border and a cluster of butterflies.

Pfaltzgraff Pistoulet Teapot: This is such a pretty teapot and makes a very nice pot of tea. It's such a neat design and seems to have broad appeal. Bright, colorful drawings are set against wide watercolor washes that evoke the light and colors of Southern France. It's a nice heavy pot and keeps the tea warm a long time.

Stainless-Steel Teapot with lifetime warranty. When you're enjoying a casual breakfast, it's always nice to sip that second or third cup of hot tea. This pot keeps the contents deliciously warm for up to an hour.

Chantal Red Teapot: You can never go wrong with a classic especially when it's as lovely as this teapot. The semi-gloss finish gives this ceramic teapot an inviting look and smooth feel. With a 24-ounce capacity, you can share some tea with a friend or enjoy every ounce for yourself. This teapot is such a joy to look at as well as use! The handle is very user friendly and very generous in its proportion but not too much to look out of scale to the pot's body. The lid's knob is just great - no more slipping out of your fingers. It is a flat design with slight indents to really get a grip, and the trademark triangular shape makes an art statement to the roundness of the body. You'll enjoy looking at the pot as much as you'll enjoy your tea experiments.
