Not only do you have to deal with insurance companies, police reports, and auto repair shops shortly after your wreck, but you also have to do all of that while trying to recover from any physical injuries that you may have sustained!

In this article, we'll lay out for you the different types of car accidents that you need to know. Having this knowledge will allow you to better classify your accident in the event that you ever find yourself in a collision.

One of the most common collisions to occur is the rear-end collision. In this type of accident, a driver moves forward into the back bumper of a vehicle in front of it. Most rear-end collisions happen at traffic lights when the driver at fault does not realize that the car in front of it is stopped.

Rear-end collisions are one of the many effects of distracted driving. It can take only a few seconds of your eyes being off the road and on your phone for you to fail to notice that the cars in front of you have stopped for a red light.

The T-bone accident typically occurs at some kind of intersection. In this type of incident, a vehicle crashes into the side of another vehicle. Unlike rear-end collisions, the fault is not always immediately clear.

The vehicle that crashed into the side of another car could have been at fault if they ran through a red light, for instance. However, it could also be equally likely that the car that was on the receiving end of the T-bone jumped their own light and put itself in the path of a vehicle that was moving lawfully through an intersection.

Sideswipe accidents typically cause the least damage of all the different types of vehicle wrecks. In this accident, two cars that are traveling in parallel directions rub up against each other. This particular accident is bound to happen when a driver doesn't make it a habit to check their blind spot when merging into another lane.

The head-on collision can often have the most disastrous effects of all the accident types. With the head-on collision, two vehicles run directly into each other. Because the speed of the two vehicles adds together, the consequences of a head-on collision can be absolutely devastating. If you have been in such an incident and have suffered great injuries, then you may be eligible to file a bodily injury claim and receive compensation.
