Learning at Home During the COVID19
Tuesday, 22 December 2020

It has been a challenge to say the least these last few months for mothers around the world. How do you make sure that the kids are getting their homework done and understanding all that they need to? How do you manage your household at the same time? For moms around the world the workload feels like 10 times what it used to be.

Here are some suggestions to help you through this overwhelming time.

Remember to relax. The kids have the rest of their lives to learn what they need to. We all have to adapt, and they need to adapt to what’s going on as much as we need to adapt to them loitering around the house all day.

Create a schedule for study time at home that is consistent so that kids can play their playful ambitions. Remember that kids thrive in school mostly because of the structure. The kids would rather play online with their friends and its boring sitting in front of a laptop getting confused by there teachers but if they know that they have a regular recurring time for both play and schoolwork they will usually fall in line. Bribe as necessary.

Encourage them to read as much as possible. Even setup a scheduled free reading time for you and your kids. Reading together might be the best possible way to get through the pandemic. Check out your local library for their eBooks which is a great way to read lots, have a mental break from your house and get new material without putting yourself and your loved ones at any risk of catching covid.

When it comes to online learning anticipate running into all kinds of IT issues but don’t let it frustrate you. Mommies are not IT specialists. The Wi-Fi is slow? How slow? To slow for your schoolwork but fast enough to play Fortnite? For as many billions of dollars as Bill Gates and Steve Jobs made for themselves and their companies nothing actually works right, and it is not your fault. Reach out to your school or tutor or someone in your network of friends or family for help when you need it. Most of us are working from home now and we really don’t have anything better to do so don’t be afraid to ask for help.

I do not understand, and my teacher doesn’t have time to explain things to me. What am I supposed to do? We recommend getting a toronto tutor. Online tutoring is a great way to get your kids they help they need to get through math tutor, chemistry, physics, biology and even their English essays if that is what they need. Last thing we want is for them to fall a year behind in school and struggle. Sadly, the teachers now are so overwhelmed with so many things most do not have time or energy to offer any kind of extra help. Plus, it is always best to get a tutor because a tutor can offer consistent support to ensure success.
