1. The Backwaters- Alleppey

2. The Magic of Western Ghats

You should definitely visit Munnar and Thekkady to explore the scenic beauty of Western Ghats. They are the two well-known tourist spots in Kerala. If nature and wildlife photography is your interest, then you would definitely love this place. You will get some stunning landscape scenes to shoot here.

If you are a bird watcher or a bird photographer, then you should definitely explore Munnar and Thekkady for the Western Ghats endemic species. There is a flower known as “Neelakurunji” which blooms once in 12 years, and Munnar is the best place to photograph this beautiful flower species. The entire mountains will be covered with the Neelakurunji flowers. It will look like a blue mountain if you view from the top. You can hire a taxi to reach Munnar from Cochin Airport. Munnar is also known for its tea plantations. So, don’t forget to get a pack of tea when you are visiting this place.

Thekkady is an excellent destination for exploring Indian Wildlife. You will have a good chance of spotting Asiatic elephants, lion-tailed macaque, wild Gaurs, wild Boars, Spotted Deer, and Sambhar Deer. If you are lucky, then you can get a glimpse of the great Indian Tiger too. You can also find many good birds in Thekkady. If you are a trekker, then you can also do trekking inside the forest, after taking permissions from the forest department. It is a good destination for nature and wildlife photographers. So, carry your telephoto lens also, if Thekkady is in your list.
