The Best Home Gym Equipment to Get Ripped

Lockdown has definitely meant that more and more people are trying out at home fitness. Lots of people are taking up running, which combines fitness and of course their chance to get out and about in the “real outside world”, however, other people are trying out at home workouts instead.

People and finding inspiration from a variety of places and during lockdown I discovered Fitness Savvy whilst looking for dumbbells. Experts in all thing's fitness, I thought that this was the ideal time to put together a guide on which is the best home gym equipment to get ripped.

They may seem like a simple tool, especially compared to other pieces of gym equipment out there, but you should never underestimate the power of dumbbells. They are not only incredibly easy to use, but they are fully transportable too, you can use them indoors or outdoors and they are small enough to be simple to store.

If you are looking for dumbbells there are some great places that you can buy them, particularly online however you need to ensure that they are going to do exactly what you need them to do.

Another all important piece of gym equipment that you should have in your home is a kettlebell. A kettlebell is ideal for an all-round workout and you can use them during squats or perhaps swinging for an arm workout. The great thing about kettlebells is that they don’t require a lot of space and, if you are worried about damaging your floor then you can go for softer models that won’t make a mark if you drop them.

When you think of barbells the chances are that you might think about Olympic sports and large, pieces of equipment that you would never have enough room to store in your home. In the most part, this is true, however, there are also barbells that are designed to be much easier to store in your home.

If cardio is your thing, then you might already know how tough a workout that battle ropes can give you. A key feature of any circuit based workout, these ropes are often used for slams, waves and a variety of other actions. They are not only tough on the arms, but they are also a piece of equipment that is going to need a bit of space, so you may need to have them in your garden.

Speed Rope
A main stay of MMA and boxing training, lots of fitness enthusiasts have realised that speed ropes are a pretty epic workout. Perfect for a cross fit workout, they are the ultimate cardio tool. They can take a little while to master and when things go wrong it can be frustrating, but we promise you that they are a really great idea to have them in your home gym equipment. Just make sure that you try to use them outside as you may be in danger of hitting things indoors.

Pullup Bar

Keen to work on your arms? If you are then a pull up bar is a great addition. In order to fit these you just need to add it to your existing doorframe, and you will be ready to go. These bars can be used for back and bicep workouts as well as pullups and chin-ups too. If you are worried about stability and you don’t mind committing to having it there all the time then you could always drill it in.

Ab Wheels

If your abs are a key focus of your fitness regime then you may want to take a look at ab wheels. These are, in their most basic form, a roller that moves long the floor. They have become better and better designed over time and are now not only great if you are looking for an intense burn on your workout, but also to be stable with it on each and every rep too.

So, there you have it, some of the very best home gym equipment for you to invest in during these lockdown times. Some of them are bigger than others, some work on cardio and strength and some on one of these things alone. The thing to think about and remember is that exercise, in whatever form you decide to take it in, is good for your mental and physical wellbeing and is something that we should all be focusing on. Lockdown or no lockdown.
