Body Detox: What Should You Know
Saturday, 19 June 2021

Detox is all about cleansing, resting, and nourishing the body from the inside out. When you remove and eliminate toxins, you clean the body. Detox involves detox diets that are usually short term interventions to assist the process of toxin removal from the body. Usually, a typical toxin diet involves fasting and then a strict diet of fruit, vegetables, juices, and water. Some detox also includes herbs, supplements, and a combination of specifically formulated detox teas. Famous is the Australian Tea Company Black Leaves.

Body detox claims to:

  • Rest organs by fasting
  • Stimulate liver to get rid of toxins
  • Boost toxin elimination through waste
  • Boost circulation
  • Provide the body with healthy nutrients.

Usually, detox therapies are recommended due to exposure to toxic chemicals in the diet or the environment. These could be pollutants, synthetic chemicals, heavy metals, or harmful compounds.

All in all, detoxification of the body means cleansing of the body. The impurities are removed from blood in the liver. Detox is also used to remove remnants of drug or medical marijuana acquired from weed dispensary Vaughan.

How to Know If You Need a Body Detox?

One should detox at least once a year. But nursing mothers, children, and patients with cancer, chronic degenerative diseases, or TB should avoid it. Consult your health care practitioner before trying out detox.

Here are some of the signs that indicate your body needs detox:
  • allergies
  • Unexplained fatigue
  • Irritated skin
  • Low-grade infection
  • Puffy eyes
  • Bloating
  • Menstrual problems
  • Mental confusion

Common Ways To Detox

From simple food modifications to total starvation fasts, there are numerous ways to do a detox diet.
  • Fasting 1-3 days
  • Drinking fresh juices of fruits and veggies along with smoothies, water, and tea.
  • Eliminating foods that are high in heavy metals, allergens, and contaminants.
  • Taking herbs or supplements.
  • Drinking specific liquids like lemon juice or salted water.
  • Avoiding all allergenic foods and then using them again gradually.
  • Using enemas, colon cleanses, and laxatives.
  • Regular exercise
  • Completely removing alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, and refined sugar.
Detox diets vary both in duration and intensity.

Detox from Marijuana

Marijuana acquired from a weed dispensary in Vaughan gets you immediate effects. Even when the effects subside, the marijuana metabolites remain. This means that the chemical remnants of the plant, called cannabinoids, are present in the body. They can be detected in blood, hair, fingernails, urine, and saliva.

There are a few withdrawal symptoms that are linked with detox with weed. This makes it difficult to quit. Some of these symptoms are:

  • Anxiety
  • Craving to use
  • Depression
  • Decreased appetite
  • Disturbed sleep
  • Dehydration
  • Excessive sweating
  • Fever
  • Headaches
  • Negative mood
  • Shakiness
  • Stomach pains

Lack of proper sleep or insomnia is the most common withdrawal symptoms that weed users go through. Although it varies from one person to another, one may have sleepless nights from a couple of days to few months. This depends on both the duration of the usage and the frequency of use. Depression ranks as the second most common withdrawal symptom along with nightmares and vivid dreams.

Apart from the above symptoms, people can experience all degrees of anger while they are on detox. Some feel a low-level of range, general irritated mood, or sudden outbursts of anger. They might be angry at themselves or direct their rage on their friends and family.

So, far there are no definite medical treatments available that support detoxing from weed. Although many detox groups are working to support those who want to detox. They are not addicts necessarily. Even taking medical marijuana for a certain period can leave its impacts once stopped.

Behavioral interventions coupled with personal therapy heavy are quite successful in helping those who are trying to get and stay sober. Do not try to detox on your own. Since you have been taking marijuana for medical purposes earlier, see that you do not try to quit yourself. Consult your doctor first and then get started. Your doctor might advise you to reduce slowly in an attempt to make the withdrawal symptoms less severe.

"Take care, don't fight, and remember: if you do not choose to lead, you will forever be led by others. Find what scares you, and do it. And you can make a difference, if you choose to do so."
