8 Tips in Finding and Hiring the Best Cleaners

If you're looking to hire cleaners for your home or office, here are eight tips for choosing the right one:

 1. Get referrals from family and friends.

One of the best ways to get the right contact would be to ask friends and family. Get an idea of their experience, advice, and also the quality of service. Referrals beat online reviews anytime!

2. Read online reviews.

Speaking of online reviews, you’re going to get a mixture of good and bad reviews. How do you judge? Basically, see how many positive reviews a company receives as opposed to negative ones. A good rule of thumb is to avoid companies with all 100% positive reviews. Also, look at Google Maps or Yelp for a better idea of reviews not written by someone who has been paid by the company.

3. Bonding, insurance, and workers' compensation

It's always a good idea to read the fine print to check if a company can cover any cost of damages done as a result of injury, theft, or the cleaning work done. If they don't have this included in their quotation to you, it's best to avoid them.

4. Their accreditations and experience

The length of time the company has been in business is another positive indicator of the quality of their work. Does this company have any awards or affiliations from industry organizations? Do they have their right certifications to conduct business in the industry they are in? Checking these affiliations and the years of experiences and awards lend credibility to a company’s desire to remain in good standing with their customers.

5. Service flexibility

How detailed or flexible are they in offering their services? Do they offer hourly cleaners in Perth or on a weekly basis? Are they able to customize their cleaning service packages? Different companies offer a variety of options to their customers, and you want to hire one that can be flexible with your needs and lifestyle because different homes would have different requirements.

6. Cleaning guarantee

Does the company provide a satisfaction guarantee? A company should also be able to provide compensation in case of breakage and damages. When cleaning, breakage is bound to happen, and if a company tells you to take it out on your homeowner's insurance policy, don't hire them.

7. Employees vs. contract workers

It’s also a good thing to find out if the company you’d like to hire employs contract workers or if they are employees of the company. Contract workers don't have the same benefits as employees, nor do they have the same oversight of quality. They are usually not trained and are easily replaceable. If you want a job well done, get a company with employees, although it's a little more expensive.

8. Cleaning supplies

Who supplies the cleaning tools and equipment? What are you, as a client, comfortable with? Some clients prefer using cleaning equipment such as mops and brooms from their own home, but the company provides polishing machines and vacuums. What about cleaning liquid for homes with pets, people with allergies, and others? When finding a cleaning service, these are some of the questions you need to ask before you hire them.
