You have taken some exceptional photos but I have noticed a mistake in the labeling of one of your castles. The Bamberg castle shown is not from Bamberg Germany. I lived there for 26 years and there is not a castle like this one any where near. Also, Bamberg is landlocked and has no sand like that photo, HOWEVER, as I was driving in Northern England and Scotland (during the time I lived in Bamberg Germany,) I chanced upon the castle Bamburg that was on the north east coast of England. Imagine my surprise when I saw the Bamburg castle and naturally had to visit it. Your picture looks very much like that castle in England.
I could be wrong about the English castle, but I can assure you that that photo isn't in Bamberg,Germany.

Debra, thank you for your comment!

I checked the information more carefully and I see that you are right. It's really Bamburg! I've made a mistake.
That's really great that you know both of these places!

I will change the labeling.

Thank you!

Great collection of some beautiful castles. Good to see that Bambrugh castle has been put in it's correct place (Northumbria, England), but you've spelt it wrongly! It should have an 'h' on the end. (It's pronounced 'Bamborough'). There has been a fortress there since the Dark Ages - it was originally the palace of the kings of Northumbria.

Oh, I'm very sorry, I've added 'h', now it's written correctly. Thank you!

It's a pity Palacio da Pena in Sintra (Portugal) is not included in this list.

Michelle, I've added Palacio de Pena, thank you for the information!

what a very nice collection. My own page of castle photos pales in comparison. You were lucky to be in Edimburgh on a sunny day, it was lashing down when I was there. Denis

I studied abroad in northern England last summer, and we visited Bamburgh castle - it was beautiful! The picture captures it well. I would like to point out, however, that the spelling is incorrect - it is in Bamburgh (pronounced Bambra), not Bamburg. Wonderful collection!

These are some really beautiful pictures. The Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany is huge! I wonder how long time it took to build that one. Thank you for putting up some nice photos of castles around the world.
