Being unsatisfied in life can arise in many different ways. It’s always possible to be positive and passionate in one area of life but be completely unfulfilled in another. There can be nothing more frustrating than failing to find fulfillment in certain ways, and in order to lead a rewarding life, it’s important to understand how best to feel satisfied with your own situation and own plans.

The following signs can apply to anything in life, whether it be relationships, career, or your general lifestyle.
  • You’re always complaining. You might always find the negative of a situation or think negatively about everything happening.
  • You’re restless. You might be completely motivated and feeling positive, but you don’t know where to channel that energy, and you’re feeling restless, as though something needs to change, but you don’t know what.
  • You’re bored. You’re bored with your life overall, or your everyday routine could be completely boring to you.
  • You wear a frown more than a smile.
  • Your health has become seriously affected, such as dealing with anxiety or depression.

It’s okay to want a relationship and be ready for one, but you shouldn’t depend only on that to make you happy or fulfilled.

Instead, think about how you can find a rewarding career. The most obvious choices might be those which allow you to help others and feel more fulfilled in that way, such as healthcare careers, or supporting others in vulnerable situations, such as the role of a nurse. Or, your reward may even come from working your way up in a career like that, like achieving a Master's Degree in Nursing.

3. Find Your Passion

Pastimes and hobbies are essential in your feeling of personal reward. In order to feel satisfied with the way in which you’re spending your time and have something worthy to focus on, you should try to find a pastime you can love.
Those pastimes which also promote development and skill, such as learning a new craft, can be particularly fulfilling, as you can then see what you have achieved over a period of time.

4. Make Necessary Changes

If you’re constantly complaining and feeling bored, then something clearly needs to change — but only you have the power to do that. Instead of continuing to complain, take a step back, and really think about what you can change to improve your situation.
