 Friends help you live longer

Researchers aren’t sure why, perhaps because friends can help us make and stick to healthy lifestyle choices, but in a 10 year study of 1,500 people over the age of 70 they found those with stronger friendship networks lived longer than those with fewer friends

And the great thing is, it works both ways, meeting with a friend for a chat helps both of you live longer!

Sex increases your heart-rate and this peaks during orgasm at a rate similar to light exercise such as walking upstairs. A half hour of sexual play can use up to 100 calories, the same as are in a glass of wine.

Hugging for stress management

Hugging your partner can help both of you reduce your stress levels. Couples who held hands for 10 minutes and then hugged for 20 seconds were found to have healthier reactions to stress than those who rested quietly with no touching. Hugging also helped to lower heart rate and blood pressure.
Platonic touching was found to have a similar effect in women.

Sex reduces stress

Endorphins and the hormone oxytocin are released during the sex which make you feel good in the moment and may increase feelings of intimacy and bonding with your partner. Regular exposure to these hormones may have a long term effect of helping to reduce stress.
