Quotation
"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty." Albert Einstein

A 2020 guide to choosing your new sword |
Wednesday, 17 June 2020 | |
I’ve always really admired swords. They’re so elegant, they look great, they have multiple uses and a lot of my favourite movie characters have used them. Judging by the fact that you’re reading this article, I’d hazard a guess that you’re a big fan of swords as well. You may actually like them that much that you want your own, and why not? They could help you with competitions or even add to the decorations around your house. Owning a sword comes with a lot of responsibility, but that’s not what I’m here to talk about today- you can hear that from someone else. Instead, I’m here to talk about the stuff you need to know when you’re going to buy one. There’s a lot more to it than you probably think, so have fun with my 2020 guide to choosing your own sword. What kind of sword do you actually want? It’s easy to say that you want a sword. There’s more to it than that, though, and you need to actually choose the type of sword that you want. There are a lot of different models out there; do you, for instance, want a good old fashioned dagger? Or do you want the kind of sword a pirate would have used? Or even a Japanese Katana? You need to decide what’s best for whatever the use is that your sword will provide, but most of all you need to choose the sword that you like the best. You should also think about the material of your sword- most are steel, but there are different kinds. Have a think about what kind of steel will be easiest for you to manage over a prolonged period. How much do you want to pay?
You also need to have a think about how much you’re willing to pay for your sword. As you probably know, there are a lot of different companies that sell the kinds of swords you’d like to buy. This naturally means there will be a big range of prices for very similar products, so you need to know how to find the best valued swords. However, this doesn’t automatically mean you should go and buy the cheapest sword you come across. This might result in a lack of quality and you’ll just be left disappointed by your purchase. Instead, try and buy the best sword you can find at the most competitive price by comparing different websites.
What company are you going to buy from?
I’ve already touched on the number of companies there are that sell swords. This means you have a big decision to make over which one you’ll actually buy from. You need to do a bit of research and figure out which companies are the most reputable and reliable; this will give you the best chance at getting your dream sword. Have a look about online and in the streets to figure out which company is the best for you to buy from.
