Top Watch Picks: 10 Amazing Omega Models to Check Out
Tuesday, 20 July 2021

To be labeled as Swiss-made, a watch’s components must have been assembled, manufactured, and quality-tested within the country’s borders. When it comes to luxury watches, Swiss-made watches are the best and the brightest. Mechanical movements, which consist of small cogs and gears that, when properly installed, keep time, are used in Swiss watches. These intricate, handcrafted components are masterfully assembled to create a timepiece that will stand the test of time. Omega is a Swiss watch that adheres to this globally famous protocol, resulting in a long-lasting heirloom that can be passed down through the generations. Here are ten of the brand’s most amazing watches from different collections.

1. Diver 300M Co-Axial

This model is best known for being the watch worn by Pierce Brosnan in the James Bond film Skyfall. Daniel Craig’s depiction of the renowned agent in the 1990s was based on it. With a stainless steel case measuring 42m in diameter, it’s a lovely yet unique Omega timepiece. The threaded helium escape valve is located at 10 o’clock, giving it a unique appearance. This watch has a rubber bracelet and is driven by a reference 8800 co-axial automatic movement with date.

2. Speedmaster Day-Date MK40 Triple Calendar

In 1993, the Speedmaster Day-Date MK40 Triple Calendar was introduced. The dial on this watch is a new twist on the Speedmaster line, with metrics for the day, date, month, and a 24-hour indication. The case has a diameter of 39mm, making it suitable for smaller wrists.

3. Olympic Pocket Watch

This version was crafted in 1932 as part of a special limited run. It’s not the typical production model because it was created to commemorate the 1932 Olympics. It’s an extremely rare collectible with a price tag to match. The watch is pocket-style and is made of white gold with yellow gold accents.

4. DeVille Tressor Co-Axial

The DeVille Tressor Co-Axial is among the most high-end, classiest specialty models, with a 40mm case made of yellow gold. The bracelet is made of authentic leather in the same cherry red color as the dial. Omega’s logo is located just below the 12:00 position and is made of yellow gold, as are the hour, minute, and seconds hands, and markers. The reference 8929 hand-wound co-axial time-only movements were used in this watch, which was created to commemorate the brand’s 150th anniversary.

5. Constellation Globemaster Co-Axial

This is among the most astonishing vintage Omega co-axial watches, with a matching crown on the 3 o’clock side, a gold patterned bezel, and a stainless steel case. The Globemaster is a 39mm dress watch that is both exquisite and glamorous. It has a caliber 8900 movement that is co-axial with the date, and a brown leather strap. An all-steel version, a solid gold version, and a stainless steel & two-tone gold versions are all available for this model.

6. Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Diver

The visuals of this model from the Seamaster collection are amazing. It has a 43.5 mm stainless steel case, which is larger than the 300M, which was its forerunner. It is water-resistant at 600m and it is powered by a caliber 8900 co-axial automatic movement with date, GMT, chronograph, and other features. The most prominent version of this model has a white background with stainless and orange contrast on the numerals and bezel. The orange and grey nylon NATO strap has a stainless steel buckle. This watch is also available in a variety of other colors.
The Planet Ocean is Omega’s most innovative dive watch set, with a larger case, twice the water resistance, and a variety of options such as carbon cases, a chronograph, a GMT movement, and more. Orange is a popular color, but with so many options, there aren’t many looks you can’t locate in the Planet Ocean collection.

7. Speedmaster Skywalker X-33

In remembrance of the astronauts, the Skywalker X-33 was inaugurated in 1998. This high-performance watch has a titanium bracelet and a matching titanium case that measures 45mm in diameter. A caliber 5169 electronic quartz chronograph movement drives this excellent timepiece. An analog display, countdown functions, three alarms, multiple time zones, a chronograph, and other features are included in this masterpiece. Near the 3 o’clock position, the Omega logo is off to the edge.

8. Moonwatch Omega Co-Axial Chronograph

The “Dark Side of the Moon” was given to this prototype. It’s a more contemporary version of the Speedmaster, but it’s also made of high-performance materials and significantly more expensive. The case has a diameter of 44.25 mm and is made of carbon materials. The use of carbon and ceramic materials elevates the value of this model. A Ref 9300 coaxial automatic chronograph movement drives this excellent piece. The dial is black, which gives the white lume treated markers, hour, minute, and second hands excellent readability and contrast. A 60-second timer and a 24-hour clock are displayed on dual sub-dials. The strap is made of black-coated nylon fabric. Besides black, this model is also obtainable in gray and white.

9. Speedmaster Professional Chronograph

This is yet another spectacular Speedmaster Chronograph variant. The case is made of stainless steel and has a smaller diameter, measuring 39.7 mm across. Wally Shirra’s orbit of the earth in 1962 was associated with this model. It has a leather strap and is powered by a Ref 1863 mechanical movement.

10. Moonwatch Professional Chronograph

This model was prompted by a previous version of the watch designed for Buzz Aldrin’s moon landing. The Moonwatch Professional Chronograph is a more advanced and updated type of hand-wound caliber. It has a 42 mm stainless steel case and is powered by a mechanical Ref 1863 movement. The bracelet is made of the same stainless steel as the watch, but it can be swapped out for a leather strap. The black dial contrasted sharply with the white hands and markers. Its three sub-dials, which are also highly legible white hands, dominate the lower portion of the dial. The tachymeter is indicated by white indicators on a unidirectional bezel. The chronometer’s push buttons are located just along with each central crown.

Omega watches serve a very important purpose in addition to the glitz and glam of wearing a high-end timepiece: they accurately keep time. Omega watches have also literally traveled to the farthest reaches of the globe. This brand outperforms all other brands when it comes to versatility and innovativeness.
