Get Rid of Unwanted Skin Tags |
Tuesday, 23 February 2021 | |
Skin tags are never going to be a health concern in and of themselves, but you also don’t need to keep looking at them for the rest of your life. There are a surprisingly large number of recognized ways to reduce these minor skin imperfections, and those extend from all-natural remedies to over-the-counter solutions to treatments that actually require you to visit your doctor. We’ll discuss all three so you can find the choice that’s right for you. All-Natural RemediesThere are a ton of different all-natural remedies that promise to remove a skin tag in a few days or a few weeks. And in almost all of these cases, the fundamental principle is the same: to dry out the skin tag until it simply falls off.
In fact, you can probably find at least one item in your kitchen that’s been used as a way to treat skin tags. The acidity in lemons or another citrus, the antioxidants in garlic, and the surface of banana peels can all help either reduce the swelling of your skin tag to nothing or dry or dissolve it so badly that it falls off. Vitamin E’s anti-aging properties could also help minimize the appearance of current skin tags and reduce the risk of more developing.
That is, at least hypothetically. While some research has been conducted into the efficacy of these natural remedies, a whole lot of work still needs to be done. More reliable all-natural choices are tea tree oil and apple cider vinegar. The latter is highly acidic, while the former is both antibacterial and antifungal. Either may produce varying results depending on the person.
Professional Medical OptionsThere are a number of procedures that a dermatologist can perform to remove a skin tag. This could involve freezing the skin tag with cryosurgery or cauterizing it from your face using the surgical application of heat. Doctors may also opt to remove it by cutting off blood to its base or removing it surgically with a blade.
That can be a bit dramatic considering that there are quite a few alternatives to visiting a dermatologist. Unless skin tags are a serious problem, you can probably handle them just fine without the direct intervention of your doctor.
All that being said, it can never hurt to get an opinion from your doctor before you make a decision about how to treat a skin tag. While skin tags themselves aren’t the source of tumors or any other benign symptoms, some potentially dangerous moles or other blemishes could be mistaken for skin tags.
If you’re worried, monitor the suspicious area for changes in size, shape, or discoloration over time. A skin tag shouldn’t show any growth. And when in doubt, be sure to book an appointment with your doctor. Caution is always the best policy as far as your health is concerned.
Over the Counter OptionsPharmacy shelves are packed with all sorts of over-the-counter treatments that can remove skin tags - and most of them mimic what you’d find in a dermatologist’s office. You’ll find sprays that allow you to apply liquid nitrogen directly to the surface alongside acid-free solutions that dry out the site and medicated bandages that promise to shrink the skin tag down to nothing.
The sheer volume of options can be confusing, but that comes with one important benefit - it helps ensure there’s a skin tag removal solution that’s right for you. There’s a chance that the first, or even the second or third, treatment method you try won’t work. If you want to maximize your chances of effectiveness, check out a thorough and scientifically-based skin tag removal formula like Hempvana End Tag.
